WhatsApp is getting coloured status feature like Facebook on Android: Report

WhatsApp always keep updating features for their users. So in continuing this time WhatsApp is found testing coloured status featured on the beta version on Android app. The feature is useful to increase adoption of its disappearing status features.

WhatsApp is getting coloured status feature like Facebook on Android: ReportWhatsApp is all set to copy feature of its parent company Facebook's social networking app. This feature has been tested in WhatsApp new status screen in beta version, reports Android police. WhatsApp messaging app will soon be available with colourful background status similar like Facebook.

The feature is not available yet on WhatsApp latest beta version 2.17.291 but some user have reported that it is possible to access this feature on the same version. This feature is accessible by clicking on the floating pencil button found on WhatsApp status tab. Android police states that the feature could be server side switch rather than being rolled out as an app update. 

Facebook recently confirmed that WhatsApp status feature is used by over 250 million users. The new coloured status screen has three option for adding emojis, changing the background and selecting the font. The new featured status enhanced with colourful status screen might help to convince their users to start sharing ephemeral status messages. Once the user has typed the text status message and set the background with font styled text can be shared by clicking on the green send button.

WhatsApp confirmed last month that its service has over 1.3 billion monthly active users and 1 billion daily active users. The new coloured Status feature is just another effort to expand the adoption of its disappearing status feature.It has been expanding its offering with new features like video calling, voice calling and support for sharing any file type.
